Cambridge
hero David Morgan, the only athlete in history to win 5 Commonwealth
Games titles, will be commentating for Channel 4 this month.
Held
in Sheffield, The Games 2004 involves 10 competing celebrities
including Charlie Dimmock, Katy Hill, Linda Lusardi, James
Hewitt and a host of other well known names taking part in
reality TV's toughest test of physical and mental strength
with one common goal - to be the winner.
Weightlifting
is one of the disciplines, and David, who regularly commentates
for Eurosport, will be commentating on the show live on Wednesday
14 and Sunday 18 at 9pm .
David
who is taking a year off his 25 year competitive run this
year to concentrate on a number of business ventures and several
high profile fund raising events for children’s charities,
was delighted to be asked.
‘The
Games was immensely popular last year and I’m delighted to
be a part of it. I hope it will help raise the profile of
weightlifting in the UK , as sport which is becoming more
popular among children and being adopted as part of the sporting
curriculum. It will also make a nice change to commentate
on mainstream television’.
