WORLD CHAMPIONS ON OUR DOORSTEP

World Masters Weightlifting , USA , 2003

Andy Seaber of Cambridge and Marcus Humphries of Newmarket will be leaving for Georgia , USA in a week’s time to compete in the 2003 Masters Weightlifting competition.

Andy, current World Champion in the 69Kg class, will be aiming for his third title, and hopes to set a new world record in the snatch lift. His existing record is 100.5Kg.

Marcus will be hoping for a top ten placing at his first competition at this level.

Both Andy and Marcus who qualified in Bordeaux earlier this year, are being supported by Dave Morgan, weightlifting legend who will be flying out to coach the pair.

Dave has been working closely with Andy and Marcus over the last twelve months in preparation for the championships, and has been instrumental in their successes over the last few years.

‘We rely heavily on Dave for his training techniques, nutritional advice and motivational preparation’, explained Andy.

‘Dave’s commitment is second to none, and we are delighted that he is able to join us in America ’, continued Marcus.

Dave will be competing in the 2004 European Championships in Poland where he too will attempt to beat the current world records.
